Mix and Match Hardware
Choose impactful hardware to make cabinetry and doors more interesting. I like to mix different hardware styles in the same space using a consistent finish to integrate them. This is much more eye-catching than consistency.

Don’t Forget Ceilings
Place molding on the ceiling to draw your eye up. The designers yesteryear never neglected the ceiling when designing. Why should we?

Say Yes to Wallpaper
Growing we had wallpaper everywhere. I swore it off but since then I’ve had a change of heart. The wide array of designs and textures out there is incredible. If you are afraid to commit, consider one feature wall or paper inside wall moldings. And if you move around like I do, hand-painted wallpaper can be framed as art. BUT wallpaper is only as good as the installer, so hiring the best is a must.

Fresh Flowers Always
Fresh flowers bring a space to life. I collect vases – round shaped and decanters are my top picks. Decanters require very few flowers to make a statement. You can’t go wrong with an orchid. They are elegant and sculptural and if the light is right, they last for months.

Collect, Collect, Collect
Collect what you love. I collect china, glassware, art and lighting. These elements help to create a unique personalized home. When collecting tabletop, there is no need to match. Eclectic is beautiful and much more interesting.
